HAIR LOSS IN MEN (MALES):
The Androgenetic Hair loss starts with the falling of the hair and results in complete loss because of genetics factors and affects nine out of ten men.
This type of hair loss is related to the genetic structure of the patient which starts with the puberty and can occur any time during the adulthood. Its speed, impact, and falling out pattern are completely under the genetic control. Aside from known and regular falling out patterns, it may be atypical. The donor area of choice is usually the back and sides of your scalp where hair growth stays unaffected by male pattern baldness that constantly and permanently regrows. In order to be considered for a hair transplant, potential candidates must have healthy hair growth in their donor area.
The progression of Androgenetic Hair Loss pattern:
BEFORE THE FUE HAIR TRANSPLANTATION:
There is no specific preparation for the procedure of FUE hair transplantation. However, it is important that the physician is aware of the patient’s medical history including past illnesses and current medicine in take. The patients are required to fill out the medical history form in our Clinic. On the day of the procedure, the hair is shaved in a special section of our clinic. In some cases, partial shaving might be sufficient. The patient has to get his breakfast before the operation. The usage of Aspirin or Aspiring like drugs such as blood thinners should be stopped a few days prior to the procedure and the physician should know about it.
The alcohol consumption should be stopped a few days prior to the day of the operation. Alcohol diminishes the effectiveness and length of local anesthesia, and prevents the patient having a ‘painless’ procedure. In order to overcome anxiety, some sedation and calming medicine may be given to the patient prior to the operation.
FUE HAIR TRANSPLANTATION PROCEDURE
There is no specific preparation for the procedure. However, it is important the physician knows the patient’s medical history including past illnesses and current medicine in take. The patients are required to fill out the medical history form in our Clinique. On the day of the procedure, the hair is shaved in a special section of our clinic. In some cases, partial shaving might be sufficient (less graft count). The patient has to be full before the procedure. The usage of Aspirin or Aspiring liked rugs such as blood thinners should be stopped a few days prior to the procedure and the physician should informed about it.
AFTER THE HAIR TRANSPLANTATION
After the procedure, a pain killer and anti-inflamatory medicine are given to the patient as well as a prescription. The patient is informed about the usage of the prescribed treatment/medicine. The first night normally goes without a pain thanks to these post-operational measures. An interval ice treatment is recommended. The day following the procedure, we provide you a first washing of the head with a full explanation of the post operative instructions. The patient can go home after the first hair wash.
FUE hair transplantation periods (1 year):
10th and 14th day: 1st follow-up (We will ask our patients, who are abroad during this period, to send the pictures of their head to be sure that they get rid of all the crusts)
The 4th month is the regrowth period. However, this may vary according to the patient’s hair structure and the transplanted area.
8th-12th month is the result period. In vertex transplantation, this may take longer
WHAT YOU SHOULD NOT DO AFTER THE HAIR TRANSPLANT OPERATION
In the first ten days, a complete recovery is expected. The scabs in transplanted area and the scars in the donor area completely heal. The patient may return to their everyday life in this period.
